Just in time for Friday the 13th, genre web site Bloody Disgusting has teamed with growing U.K. distributor Trafalgar Releasing, which has been expanding in the U.S., and Multicom Entertainment Group to bring a selection of cult horror classics back to the big screen in the U.S.

The “Retro Nightmares” series will be selected by fans on the Bloody Disgusting website, who will vote from 10 films, with the most in-demand titles shown in a three-night series during the Halloween season.

Films for consideration include Amityville: The Evil Escapes, Don’t Go In The House, Day of the Animals, Grizzly, The Convent and House on Sorority Row, all of which have been digitally remastered.

Bloody Disgusting co-founder Brad Miska said:

Bloody Disgusting always puts fans first, which is why we are so excited to be partnering with Multicom and Trafalgar Releasing on this Halloween Horror series. Allowing our fans to choose what they want to see on the big screen helps complete that mission.

Added Multicom president Darrin Holender:

We have been looking for just the right platform to create a communal experience around some of our cult horror titles. Many of these films haven’t been shown on the big screen in decades and all have been remastered to HD. This is going to be a fun event series for rabid horror fans.

Trafalgar Releasing SVP of programming Kymberli Frueh said:

We are excited to give horror fans the opportunity to drive the decision-making process and tell us what will excite them to relive on the big screen leading into Halloween. The voting is just the beginning of the many surprises we have in store for fan participation.

Voting begins Friday, with Trafalgar Releasing set to announce winning titles, exhibition dates, and participating theaters. Tickets are expected to go on sale in select national locations in mid-August.
